Vizion, the UK's largest automotive repair network, have sponsored the charity golf day for the past 3 years. David Corner, Business Development Manager at Vizion said: "Vizion were proud to support the event, once again, and are always delighted to be affiliated with such an incredible charity. As a business, it is great to support such a fantastic, well-organised and fun event. It was great to see so many familiar faces from the industry and also to welcome some brand-new ones, whom we hope to see again next year."
This year's event had a special guest for the day, 8-year-old Jamie White, a young boy who has been bravely living with EB, which affects 1 in 50,000 people worldwide. Jamie started the golfers off at noon by sounding the horn and then toured the course with Martyn Rowley, Executive Director of the National Body Repair Association (NBRA), who helps with the organisation every year.
The event's various challenges over an 18-hole course and auction managed to raise an impressive £20,000 for the charity.
One competition on the day, the hole-in-one challenge, sponsored by Vizion, gave the competitors the opportunity to win a brand-new Citroen AMI. This prize went to Carl Kirby, who managed this remarkable feat on hole 16!
As for the team rankings, team Vizion came fourth overall, the Abarth team came third, Budgen Motors were second and team Alfa came first. AutoFlow's Sam Goffin achieved nearest the pin on hole 3.
Chris McKie, CEO of Vizion, said: "On behalf of everyone at the Vizion, I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in the third Annual Stellantis Charity Golf Day. Paul and the team at Stellantis do an amazing job organising this event, the effort put in whilst maintaining the day job cannot be understated. To raise this incredible amount for DEBRA, to help Jamie and others affected by this terrible disease is amazing. Vizion are committed to our ongoing support of the event and this very worthy cause."
